Groupe Sélection starts demolition work in the Grande Place redevelopment project

10 June 2022

Laval, June 6, 2022 – Groupe Sélection has reached an important milestone in its project to redevelop the Grande Place with demolition work officially starting on the abandoned shopping mall. In accordance with our January timeline, this phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed by July 22, just in time for the Construction Holiday.

No permanent traffic disruptions around the site

Streets and pedestrian zones close to the site will not be impacted by the demolition work and nearby businesses will also be able to operate as usual. All demolition work will comply with applicable municipal requirements, and noise-and dust-control measures will be put in place.

The upcoming new housing concept

The Grande Place will be replaced by a complex that primarily caters to active young retirees and offers a wide range of optional services. This new residence concept will offer a unique living environment that follows the industry’s latest trends and promote an active social life. When completed, the 6-story building will house 170 rental units.
